Hand Carved Sculpture Made from Sese Wood from Ghana
"Wo foro dua pa a na ye pie wo" is an old Akan adage which directly translates as "you are pushed up when you climb a good tree". Artisan Pare Ericson finds inspiration in the Akan wisdom to carve this image of an elder person giving a younger person a push up on a tree.
"It means that you must always follow the right path in life, so others can help you along the way" says the artisan.
