Hand-carved wall mask with Sese wood from Ghana
Artisan Sweet derived the name "shanti" from the rastafarian sects known as Bobo Shanti.
"Bobo" means black and "shanti" refers to the Ashanti tribe in Ghana, from which this sect
believes Jamaican slaves are descended. Bobo Shanti was founded by
Prince Emanuel Charles Edwards in Jamaica in the 1950s.
The artisan carved this wonderful piece as a symbol of honour to the founder of Bobo Shanti
