Afadjato - Located in the Agumatsa Range near the villages of Gbledi and Liati Wote, Mount Afadjato is one of the highest mountains in Ghana. According to legends, the name Afadjato is derived from the Ewe word Avadzeto, which means war with bush. This stems from the fact that on the mountain side there are various plants that can cause skin irritation. Standing at an altitude of 885 meters (2904 ft.), Afadjato has long been a desired tourist destination. From hiking to the peak of the Mount Afadjato to seeing the Chalk caves, from seeing the wildlife in Mount Afadjato to enjoying the beautiful and stunning view from the mountain top, there are a plethora of fun things to do and places to visit at Afadjato. Furthermore, if you wish to stay in Mount Afadjato, you can find numerous hotels such as Wli Water Heights Hotel, Hotel Parc Residence, Mountain Paradise Lodge etc. While Ghana may not be blessed with a lot of high peaks and mountains, but the few that are around, like Mount Afadjato, are nothing short of breathtaking. Not to mention the fact that these mountains are showered with lush green mountain vegetation, and the feeling of being on the top of such an enormous natural mystery will make you feel on top of the world. There are two entrances to the mountain, namely Liati Wote, which is the main entrance and the second one is at Gbledi-Gbogame. In addition, if you are able to make it to the top of the Mount Afadjato, you can also engrave your name on the rocks for recording your achievement.
