    During the colonial era, in 1874, the British army led by Sir Garnet Wolseley 

    engaged in a fight with the people of Gold Coast (now Ghana) over governance.

    The Ghanaians referred to this War as the "Sagrenti War" because they could not pronounce Sir Garnet’s name correctly.
